Area rental

Leasing space at Kalundborg Port gives you more than just space. You get a strategic location, strong infrastructure and access to a business network in the middle of the maritime value chain.

Our areas are created for operation and development - and we work closely with you to provide you with the framework that suits your business.

Overall, we have approximately 1 million square meters of port area and approximately 4 kilometers of quays in two main areas: the Inner Harbor and the newer Outer Harbor.

You can learn more about the areas, facilities and infrastructure below.

The Inner Port

Flexible berths for everyone

The Inner Port covers approximately 800,000 square metres and consists of several multifunctional quays with water depths of up to 12 metres and space for ships up to 285 metres in length.

All types of cargo are handled here: dry bulk, liquid bulk, general cargo, project cargo, ro/ro, etc.

In the Inner Port, the Port of Kalundborg has two portal cranes (Århus cranes) and a Sennebogen crane that are particularly suitable for bulk operations. However, the cranes can also operate with pure hook operation if necessary.

The port area is home to companies such as NOV Flexibles, Kalundborg Bulk Terminal, Kalundborg Tank Terminal, Avista Green, JD Contractors, etc. The inner harbor also houses one of Denmark's largest bulk terminals, a tank terminal and the Samsø ferry berth.

Most of the space is rented, but there are still a few vacant areas.

However, it is always possible to offer temporary storage in connection with the loading and unloading of ships.

The Outer Port

Deep-water berth for the big ones

The Outer Port, previously called New West Port, is approximately 330,000 square metres. The port area has a 500-metre-long deep-water quay with a water depth of 15 metres, and a 50-metre-wide quay street, which provides ample space for efficient cargo handling.

The Outer Port is home to the port's container terminal, operated by APM Terminals, as well as the Kalundborg Logistics Centre, operated by Schultz Shipping Group.

In addition, the border control building with the Danish Customs and Veterinary Authority is also located in the Outer Port. Customs and veterinary controls are carried out here in connection with the container terminal.

In the Outer Port, the Port of Kalundborg has two electrically powered multipurpose mobile cranes with lifting capacities of 150 tonnes and 100 tonnes respectively, which can switch between container yokes, grabs for bulk, and pure hook operation for project and heavy lift goods.

We also expect activities within CO2 management in the port area in the future.

The Outer Port is particularly suitable for handling larger vessels and ship cargoes. In addition to the currently available vacant areas, there is also the possibility of further expansion of the port area in the future.

Why choose Kalundborg?

Kalundborg Port is located at the bottom of Kalundborg Fjord with a natural depth and a shipping channel of 15 metres.

The port is centrally located in Denmark and directly adjacent to the T-route – the deep-water route connecting the Baltics with the rest of the world – which provides a good starting point for an efficient supply chain.

All of our port areas are approved for modular truck transport, which provides unique and efficient options for transport to and from the port overland. The location on Zealand also provides easy access to the road network and a large industrial catchment area.

Combined with modern facilities and a flexible and adaptable organization, Kalundborg Port is an attractive choice for companies with a need for a location near the harbor.
