Dry bulk
The Port of Kalundborg is among Denmark's largest bulk ports and handles a wide range of bulk cargo. We receive and ship agricultural products such as fertilizer, grain and feed as well as building materials and industrial products, including salt, stone, gravel, biomass, wood pellets, etc.
The combination of deep water and flexible facilities makes the port suitable for import, export and transit of bulk goods.
The Outer Port
Large volumes & large ships
- Deepwater quay: The outer harbor has a 500 m long deep-water quay with a water depth of 15 m and two Gottwald cranes with a lifting capacity of up to 150 tons.
- Large volumes: The port area is suitable for the largest ship types and large consignments of bulk cargo. Both full and partial loads are handled here, and the great depth of water makes it possible to use the port as a transit hub, where larger ocean-going bulk carriers can unload or load from smaller coasters that transport the goods to and from ports with shallower water depths.
- Border control: In the Outer Harbor there are facilities for Customs, Food and Veterinary Control as well as the Kalundborg Logistics Center, which offers a wide range of services to customers at the container terminal, including packing/unpacking of containers, storage facilities, project cargo handling and much more.
The Inner Port
Multi-berth with flexibility
- Multi-berths: Most quays in Inderhavnen are multi-quays, so bulk can be handled in several places at the same time. The water depth in Inderhavnen is up to 12 m, and we have quay lengths of up to 450 m. At selected quays in Inderhavnen it is also possible to connect to our shore power plant.
- Cranes: The port's Sennebogen crane can serve all quays in the Inner Harbour and can be set up mobile as needed. Our two gantry cranes are dedicated to quays 12 and 13 in the South Harbour. Here, bulk goods can be unloaded and loaded with both hook and grab, and the cranes can also be used for twin lifts.
- Kalundborg Bulk Terminal: In Sydhavnen is Kalundborg Bulk Terminal, one of the country's largest bulk terminals with packaging facilities and both indoor and outdoor storage capacity. Here, goods can be stored, dried, transhipped and packaged as needed.

Why choose Kalundborg?
Kalundborg Port is located at the bottom of Kalundborg Fjord with a natural depth and a shipping channel of 15 metres.
The port is centrally located in Denmark and directly adjacent to the T-route – the deep-water route connecting the Baltics with the rest of the world – a good starting point for an efficient supply chain through Kalundborg.
All of our port areas are approved for modular truck transport, which provides unique and efficient opportunities for transport to and from the port via road. The location on Zealand also provides easy access to the road network and a large industrial catchment area.
Combined with modern facilities, a flexible and adaptable organisation, and a business-friendly municipality, this makes the Port of Kalundborg an attractive choice for companies seeking a location near the port.
