Port of Kalundborg receives NATO naval visit

According to the plan, the Port of Kalundborg will be visited by a NATO fleet consisting of no less than 4 units simultaneously over the weekend from Friday, August 26 to Monday, August 29.

The ships will be placed at various quays in the port area.

These are the following units:

Name Displacement (metric tons) Length m. Width m. Draught m. Ship
HNLMS Karel Doorman (A833) 26800 204,7 30,4 7,8 Multi-purpose support ship of the Royal Dutch Navy
NRP Corte Real (F332) 3180 116 14,8 6,1 Frigate from Portugal
HNoMS MAUD (A530) 26200 183 26,0 9,0 Norwegian support ship, after-supplies
HNoMS Roald Amundsen (F311) 5130 134 16,8 7,6 Frigate, Norway

According to the information, the crews consist of a total of approximately 580 people.

The ships arrive for provisions and a break.

The Port of Kalundborg hopes that the crews – while the ships are at berth – will visit the town, the town's shops and the local area and experience the local culture and cuisine. We also hope that the town will have a good experience of the visit similar to the last fleet visit to the port.

Schultz Shipping A/S, Kalundborg is the agent for the ship during the stay.

The photo does not show one of the four vessels, but rather the American USS Gunston Hall when it was visiting Kalundborg in July.
