Record number of cruise guests in Kalundborg

On Sunday, August 7, approximately 4,900 cruise guests will arrive at the Port of Kalundborg on the large cruise ship AIDAnova. This is approximately 1,000 guests more than the first time the ship called at the Port of Kalundborg.

The 337-meter-long and 42-meter-wide cruise ship AIDAnova first called at Kalundborg Harbor on July 8, but now the ship is coming again. This time with a full 4,900 cruise guests on board, and the vast majority choose to go out on their own in Kalundborg. That's about 4,100 cruise guests. The remaining about 800 go on pre-booked trips to Copenhagen, Trelleborg, Roskilde and local guided tours in Kalundborg.

Throughout the day, 10 shuttle buses will run at a regular schedule between the harbor quay and the square. In addition, two shuttle buses will run between the square and Røsnæs, stopping at Dyrehøj Vingård, the Nature School and the parking lot at Røsnæs Lighthouse. At Røsnæs Lighthouse, guided walks will be offered for guests who go there, and on the buses towards Røsnæs there will be volunteers who will explain what guests can experience at the various stops.

"We also expect good activity in Højbyen, where the museum offers free admission to cruise guests. Unfortunately, the majority of the shops in the pedestrian zone have chosen to stay closed. However, we are very happy for those who have chosen to stay open, and of course all cafes and restaurants etc. are open", says Michael Larsen, sales manager and cruise manager at Kalundborg Port.

Kalundborg Maritime Museum is also open all day.

AIDAnova is expected to arrive at 8:00 a.m. and depart again at 6:00 p.m. A medieval band will welcome guests at the quay, and Ruds Vedby Garden will send the ship off.

The Port of Kalundborg will also be visited again by AIDAnova on Sunday, September 4, which will be the last cruise call this season.
