The Russia situation results in fewer cruise ship calls than expected

Despite the previous announcement, the Port of Kalundborg will only have three cruise ship calls this year. However, it will be one of the very large cruise ships that will call at the new cruise terminal at Ny Vesthavn.

The 337-meter-long and 42-meter-wide AIDAnova will call at Kalundborg Harbour on Friday, July 8, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, August 7, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, September 4, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

It has previously been announced that cruise lines have changed their summer program due to the situation with Russia and Ukraine, which means, among other things, that the shipping companies are dropping St. Petersburg, which is usually an extremely popular cruise destination. Now, the uncertain situation is unfortunately leading to further re-prioritization by the cruise lines.

"However, we are looking forward to receiving our largest cruise ship to date three times during the summer, and we look forward to many more cruise calls in the coming years. Right now, the situation unfortunately only means three calls for us, but that is of course significantly better than in the previous few years, when we have had no calls at all due to corona," says Port Director Bent Rasmussen.

AIDAnova can accommodate up to 5,228 passengers and approximately 1,600 crew members.
